City Clerk
City Clerk Krystal "Nicci" Rummel took office July 25, 2022 to fill the remaining term of the vacated City Clerk position during a Special City Council meeting. She was elected during the 2022 Election Cycle to a 4-year term which started January 1, 2023.
The duties and responsibilities of the City Clerk for the City of Ward, Arkansas are defined, established, and set forth by state statute. Arkansas Code Annotated 14-43-506 currently defines those duties. In addition, the Clerk shall perform the following duties per Ordinance 2018-04.
- The City Clerk's office maintains all official City records of proceedings and documents, including City Council minutes, ordinances, and resolutions.
- Arranging the publication of official duties such as ordinances, requests for bids, notices of hearings, elections, and so forth.
- Perform the functions of a magistrate during the disability or absence of the Mayor, with all the power and jurisdiction of the Mayor, and to all intents and purposes whatever.
